Franchisees Deliver All Books to Local Libraries and Charities

ATLANTA - February 8, 2011 - Great American Cookies today announced that the company's Reading is SWEET™: 2010 National Book Drive resulted in more than 7,000 donated books at Great American Cookies stores across the country. The program kicked off on October 1 with an Original Chocolate Chip cookie giveaway and continued throughout the month as customers were rewarded with a free cookie of their choice when they donated a new or gently read book at a participating Great American Cookies location.

"We're delighted with the incredible results of our inaugural Reading is SWEET program and the positive feedback from our customers and store owners," said Jenn Johnston, chief marketing & operations officer for GFG Management, LLC. "We're looking forward to bringing the program back again in 2011 and hope to collect even more books to benefit local libraries and charities."

Great American Cookies stores in more than 150 cities participated in the national book drive with several locations collecting hundreds of books throughout the program period.

"My six participating stores collected around 600 books total throughout the month of October," said Craig Jones, owner of multiple participating Great American Cookies locations in Kentucky and Ohio. "Customers at all of our stores seemed to enjoy the book drive and the schools that received the collected books in each local market were thrilled with the donations."
